Our Company

Active Wire is an IT consulting company founded in 1996 to serve the Mid-Atlantic business community. We provide enterprise application development and software integration services to our corporate clients. Active Wire's senior consultants bring 4 key strengths to each engagement: technical proficiency, effective communications, business acumen, and industry specific expertise. Instant Productivity is our distinctive advantage: the ability to step right into a new environment and immediately begin to improvise/innovate towards a desirable solution.

Our Competitive Difference
Our senior-level consultants have the skills and experience to be instantly productive in the first hour of the first day on a new engagement. This level of achievement requires a weekly commitment of (non-billable) time for training, seminars, research, etc. For this reason, we neither seek nor recommend 40 hour/week contracts. Many Staff Augmentation vendors can provide 40 hr/week task-specific contractors; however Active Wire's senior consultants primarily serve a different space.
Technology Neutral
Active Wire is a consulting firm, not a vendor. Because we have no particular sales relationships with any hardware or software manufacturers, our clients can be assured of unbiased technology recommendations which always represent the client's best interests.

Our Services
Our practice consists of senior-level technology consulting services offered to enterprise clients. This generally entails on-site consultation with the client's executive team, IT group, and business end-users. Some common roles that we typically serve in a team-based environment: providing top end technical resource to team members, fostering good team relationships, ensuring development best-practices, mentoring of mid- and junior developers. Alternatively, we often provide "out sourced" turn-key software development for projects which are time critical and not especially team oriented.
